About the Practitioner

     Christine McCorison (formerly known as Christine Berube) is more commonly known by family, friends and clients as Chrissy. She is a State and Nationally Certified, Licensed Massage Therapist.  In 2004, she completed a 775-hour Massage Training Program in Therapeutic Massage at the College of Southern Maryland, including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Medical, and Myofascial massage techniques, as well as some training in Reflexology. She graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Massage Therapy and became licensed that year (2004).  She has completed the level I & II Craniosacral Therapy courses and Somato-Emotional Release I & II from The Upledger Institute and is working towards getting her certification in this style of bodywork.  In addition,  she has received certification in Reiki I, II, and III working with the Chakra Energy Systems.  She holds a Bachelors of Science in Alternative Medicine from Everglades University (2004) and a Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy (2010). During 2013 & 2014, Chrissy completed the Baltimore School of Reflexology program and has been actively pursuing courses in Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT) for the past several years (Modules 1-10: Low Back and Neck Basic -Module 1, Low Back and Neck Intermediate -Module 2, Sacrum Basic -Module 3, Sacrum Intermediate -Module 4, Spine & Nerves -Module 5, Compression Syndromes -Module 6, Cranial 1 -Module 7 , Cranial 2 -Module 8, Cardiac -Module 9 ,Tissue Specific Fascial Mobility -Module 10.) with Lisa Klein. Spring of 2016, she completed the Level I and spring 2022 completed level II Myofascial courses with John Barns. 2017, she completed the upper and lower extremity courses in Neuromuscular Therapy with Judith DeLany and Don Kelley, in October 2019 she worked with Shannon Goossen to complete training on Frequency Specific Microcurrent for Myofacial and Neuropathic Pain, and in early 2020 she completed a course in Anatomy Trains: Structure and Function with Tom Myers. The newest discipline Christine has began to learn is viceral manipulation with the Barrel Institute with Jean-Pierre Barrel. She has completed VMI Abdomen I in 2022 and VMII Abdomen II in 2023. In her practice she combines all her knowledge and intuition to create a place where her clients can learn, grow, and heal.  She intends to continue her education and further her abilities to help all those who come to and trust in her.  She leads her life with unconditional love and happiness and hopes to help others achieve their maximal potential in this life.  Every individual is special and unique and is treated as such along their journey and path to wellness. Chrissy's scope of practice is to develop, maintain, rehabilitate, or augment physical function, relieve or prevent physical dysfunction and pain, and enhance the well-being of the client.  Methods include assessment of the soft tissue and joints, as well as treatment by soft tissue manipulation, remedial exercise programs, and client self-care programs.  Our goal together is to prevent illness, rehabilitate to optimum functioning levels, and to promote relaxation throughout your body.
